Graduation of MCL Operator Training Program
Cepu, 25 March 2009 – Mobil Cepu Ltd. (MCL) the operator for Cepu Block announce the graduation of 61 trainees from its operator training program. Working together with Pusdiklat MIGAS, MCL kicked off the program during September 2007 for candidates from the surrounding areas of Bojonegoro, Tuban and Blora.
The two-year training program is a means of developing a national work force that will ultimately operate and manage the Banyu Urip Central Processing Facility (CPF) pipeline and offshore terminal. The training curriculum includes comprehensive training and certification in oil and gas technology as well as full English language immersion.
Upon graduation, the group of trainees will continue their On the Job Training (OJT) assignments that will provide them with exposure to the company’s operating, work management and safety practices. OJT assignments will be either in Canada, the United States or in Aceh Production Operation area.
“We are very proud of the accomplishment of our trainees, as this is a very important milestone in realizing our strategy for workforce development and nationalization that involve increasing the number of national employees over the life span of a project,” said Michael K. Nelson, President of MCL.
MCL supports training programs that provide education necessary for developing people for both operational and leadership roles. The company is underway to recruit the next class of trainees that will sign up approximately 50 trainees by September 2009.
