MCL Employee Volunteers to Clean Up Local Elementary
Bojonegoro, March 1, 2008 - Mobil Cepu Ltd. (MCL) a subsidiary of Exxon Mobil Corporation and the contractor of Regulatory Body of Oil and Gas for Upstream Business (BPMIGAS) for Cepu Block, work together with BAPPEKA (Banyuurip Peduli Pendidikan) a local non governmental organization to conduct an employee volunteer program in refurbishing school impacted by the recent flood in Bojonegoro.
More than 35 employees and contractors participated in a broad range of volunteer activities. Among the activities are repairing and painting the school building, donating new school supplies and providing medical assistance to students at Sudu I Public Elementary School (SDN Sudu I), Kalitidu sub-district, Bojonegoro. In addition, there is a story-telling session for the students by MCL Development Manager, Kunto Wibisono.
"Our employees and contractors are not only MCL's greatest asset but they are also part of the communities where they live and work," said Michael K. Nelson, President and General Manager of MCL. "We are very proud to be part of this community, and as a good corporate citizen in Indonesia, we hope that this contribution could help the community members to return to their normal daily lives after the flood," he added.
Earlier, Exxon Mobil Corporation has committed in contributing US$ 500.000 (4,5 Billion Rupiah) through Mobil Cepu Ltd., to assist the communities affected by the torrential flood in Bojonegoro, Blora and Tuban areas.
